Winter Clothing Pare Down and Organization: 3 Year Old Boy
Part of our commitment to nature is simplifying and focusing less on “things” and more on sustainable choices.
Today (our 4th day of an Extreme Cold Warning") we are going through everyone’s clothes and taking inspiration from the “333 challenge", described here: https://bemorewithless.com/project-333-challenge/
"Project 333™ is the minimalist fashion challenge by Courtney Carver that invites you to dress with 33 items or less for 3 months."
Taking this as inspiration, this is what we achieved for wardrobe #1:
Winter Season 33 (3 year old boy):
Tops:
6 long sleeve tee shirts
1 hooded cotton sweatshirt
1 wool pullover sweater
1 housecoat
Bottoms:
2 pairs wool pants for under snow pants
3 pairs of "cosy" play pants (sweats)
1 pair of dress up jeans
1 pair of play jeans
1 pair of dress cotton pants
7 pairs of socks (2 wool)
1 pair wool indoor slippers
Outdoor Gear:
1 pair winter boots
1 pair snow pants
1 cold weather, extra warm (down) jacket
1 "car jacket"
1 pair waterproof, long mittens
1 pair thin "everyday" mittens
1 warm toque (wool)
1 neck warmer
*Tip: when selecting what to keep, choose items that both mom and kid agree on in order to make morning (or evening) selection of clothing easy!
Success for closet #1!
Immediate sense of relief. Now this 3 year old can select a shirt, bottoms, and socks independently (and his 15mo sister can help!!) and not feel overwhelmed.
